ApproveMail's Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. As part of the operation of the ApproveMail.com web site, we gather certain types of information about site visitors, and we would like to explain the types of information we gather and how it is used. ApproveMail collects two types of information from users: personal data (such as names, addresses and billing information provided by the user during the sign process); and aggregated data (such as information about traffic patterns on ApproveMail.com, for example how many users log into ApproveMail.com on a daily basis).

Personal Data
Personal data is collected when users voluntarily provide personal data to ApproveMail.com, for example when registering for our membership services. We do not share this data with third-party companies except as necessary for billing purposes (for example to process a credit card transaction). All billing data is transferred over a secure connection using 128-bit encryption. We make every reasonable effort to protect the security and privacy of the personal data you submit to ApproveMail.com.

Aggregated Information
Aggregated information, such as which pages users visit and during what hours of the day, is collected through various methods. For example, ApproveMail.com collects IP addresses. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer by your ISP whenever you are surfing the Web. When you request a page from ApproveMail.com, our servers log your IP address. This is common practice among nearly all web servers (the computers that "host" web sites) operating on the Internet. ApproveMail.com does not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, so although your connection will be logged, you will remain anonymous to us. ApproveMail.com collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, planning and internal business.

Use of Cookies
ApproveMail.com also uses "cookies" to collect information. A cookie is a small text file that most major Web sites use to record data when you visit them. Cookies allow ApproveMail.com to measure activity on the Site and to improve your user experience, for example by remembering your passwords and viewing preferences, thus allowing you to login to your account without re-entering this data on return visits. Cookies are also used by ApproveMail.com to measure activity on the Site and make improvements and updates accordingly. The use of cookies does not enable us to retrieve information from your computer that was not originally sent in a cookie. We do not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes. We do provide anonymous information to our affiliates regarding the number of visitors they have referred to ApproveMail.com. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, it is possible that some parts of ApproveMail.com will not function properly if you refuse to accept cookies.

Use of Information Collected by ApproveMail.com
ApproveMail uses both the personal and aggregated information we collect for multiple purposes. The information is used to improve the content of the Site, to customize the content and/or layout of the Site for each individual user and to notify users about updates to the Site or send reminders to users regarding their subscription account. It may also be necessary at times for ApproveMail to share information with consultants and affiliates for internal business purposes and we may also divulge personal information if such information is subpoenaed, or if ApproveMail believes that any user has committed unlawful acts, or acts that endanger the health or safety of another user or of the general public. In some situations, we will share your personal information, on a confidential basis, with third parties who perform a particular service on our behalf. Also, ApproveMail may be sold or transferred to another entity. Should such an event occur, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.

Individuals Under 13
ApproveMail encourages parents and guardians to be fully familiar with the sites visited by their children. ApproveMail does not allow children under the age of 13 to sign for an email account. If such an account is desired, a parent or guardian must sign on the child's behalf. During the sign process, we ask for verification of age and, if under the age of 13, for parent permission. However, while ApproveMail.com requests this information and permission, we must rely on users to be truthful in responding to these questions.

Individuals 13 Through 17
ApproveMail.com requests that children age 13-17 do not apply for an ApproveMail account without a parent or guardian's consent. Personal information will be gathered during the sign process, so caution should be exercised in this regard. If a user or their parent or guardian changes their mind with respect to such use, such user, parent or guardian may stop that use by canceling the account.

Message Board
ApproveMail may provide a message or posting board for subscribers as well as non-subscribed site visitors. Please remember that information posted to message board's areas becomes public information. Use caution when posting. All users--especially those under the age of 18--should be careful not to provide any personally identifying information while using a message board. As set forth in ApproveMail's Terms and Conditions of use, message board users must follow acceptable standards of behavior when posting messages.

Additional Information
No transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure. It may be possible for third parties not under the control of ApproveMail to intercept or access transmissions or private communications unlawfully. While we strive to protect your personal information, ApproveMail cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. Any such transmission is done at your own risk. Under no circumstances, including but not limited to negligence, shall ApproveMail be liable for any special, incidental or consequential damages that result from the use of information or materials on our sites, even if ApproveMail or an authorized representative of ApproveMail, has been advised of the possibility of such damages. This section also should be read in conjunction with the full Terms of Service.

Posting of the revised policy at this URL shall be considered sufficient notification to each individual user of any such changes. The current Privacy Policy will always be available here.
